"Spring for Music," the festival of North American orchestras that launches in May 2011 in Carnegie Hall, has announced its participants for the year 2012, at the same time it amends the roster of orchestras for 2011.

In the latter category, the Atlanta Symphony has withdrawn, for budgetary concerns, and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra will take its place, opening the festival on May 6. Thereafter come the Toledo, Albany, Dallas and Oregon symphonies (May 7-12, respectively), the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (May 13 and 14).

Orchestras chosen for the 2012 festival (May 7-12) are the Houston, Edmonton, New Jersey, Alabama, Milwaukee and Nashville symphonies.

Orchestras are chosen by festival CEO Artistic Director Thomas W. Morris, also artistic director of the Ojai Festival and a consultant to many U.S. orchestras. Also directing the festival are David Foster, CEO of Opus 3, manager to several of the participating orchestras; and PR consultant Mary Lou Falcone.

Ticket prices are designed for affordability at $25, on a first-come, first-served basis. Some are priced at $15.
